A little dose of perspective this week. I had a few great runs post-Hardrock. Sunday; I did a solid run up and down Crested Butte Mountain resort. I gained about 2600′ in four miles up the service road, then headed down via the single track. Once back down at about mile 11, I ran down into the Town of CB for a burrito with friends Jeff and Michelle; and my wife. Great fun. I also had some solid signal peak runs, and Hartmans’ runs. The other highlight of the running week was a great run up to Henry Lake from Taylor Canyon Road. The run starts at 9000′ and heads up to Henry Lake at 11,700′. The total distance was approx. 15 miles… with some great vertical gain and loss. I love running these new trails to higher altitudes; I feel really fit when I run these. I would rec. this Henry Lake run to everyone.
I also did some short runs in Colorado Springs over the weekend. I ran on the roads and single track around the Airforce Academy area. Annie and I took the youth group down there for a fantastic weekend of bible teaching, encouraging, and worship at the “Desperation Youth Conference” at New Life Church. Josh, Jesse, David, Jackson, Brandon, Wife and I were there; it was excellent. I for one have come back renewed and refreshed and refocused. We also hiked a little bit at the Garden of Gods on the way out of town.
