Tim Parr is officially in the ‘ultra-world’ now with a solid debut in the 50 mile distance. It was great to see him put up a good result in the 2009 American River 50 mile. I said it before; and I will say it again; Tim is a threat for any race he enters; especially from here on out. Period. You gotta hand it to Max King for winning this thing in 6:04. Great Job; and Kami Semick won the women’s race in 6:45. Excellent. Tim went out fairly conservative in the competitive race; held is own for the first 28 miles; and then had an uncharacteristically poor slump from mile 28 – 34. He pulled it together from there on in; and finished up super strong, passing several people to move up from 8th to 5th in the final 3 miles. He is one tough character. Way to go Tim. Also; you can find the results for this race at the race website: http://www.capitalroadrace.com/results/09_AR50_OVL.HTM.

American River 50 Miler
As for me and my training. I feel well recovered from the Moab 100 of last week; and ready to press ahead into a set of super solid training over the next couple months. Looking forward to it? You could say that. My body healed very well with the cold bath/hot bath routine; the stretching; short jogs, and solid amounts of sleep. I am ready to rock. He we go. Thanks for reading; get out there and run because you love it; that’s what I’ll be doing…. no doubt about it.
